Medicare Home Health Pay for Performance
Amedisys received $4.7 million from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) based on its performance during the second year of the Medicare Home Health Pay for Performance (HHP4P) demonstration. Based on Amedisys' analysis of publicly available information from CMS.gov, Amedisys has received the highest reward for this demonstration for the second year in a row. The company received a $3.6 million award in 2010.
CMS is sharing more than $15 million in savings with 166 home health agencies that either maintained high levels of quality or made significant improvements in quality of care.
Best Practice Intervention Package on Care Transitions
Amedisys’ Care Transitions program and the Georgia case study successfully demonstrating a downward trend in the acute care hospitalization rate were highlighted in Home Health Quality Improvement National Campaign’s Cross Settings I – Best Practice Intervention Package, a guide designed for home care leaders and clinicians about Care Transitions. 2011 HomeCare Elite
Over 250 Amedisys Care Centers across the country have been named to the 2011 HomeCare Elite™, a compilation of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States, based on quality outcomes, quality improvement and financial performance. Of the 257 care centers honored, 104 have been honored multiple times, including 13 winners that have been acknowledged every year since the inception of the HomeCare Elite list six years ago. (2011)
Amedisys Hospice care centers in Canonsburg and Scottdale, PA achieved Partner Level Four status, the highest recognition from the We Honor Veterans program, which promotes better understanding of the challenges veterans may be facing from illness, isolation or traumatic life experiences. Fewer than 20 hospices in the country have achieved this status. Forty Amedisys care centers, across 16 states, are currently participating in the We Honor Veterans program in various capacities, ranging from Level One to Four. (2012)
First to Earn Accreditation for Integrated Health Care Standards for Behavioral Health Disorders
Three Amedisys care centers are the first in the country to be awarded the prestigious Integrated Health Care Standards Accreditation by the Accreditation Commission of Health Care (ACHC). The new accreditation is awarded to home health agencies that demonstrate a strong multidisciplinary approach to caring for patients suffering from behavioral health disorders such as depression, dementia and schizophrenia.
